Discover Estartit’s surroundings while you’re staying in the villa or holiday home

Just imagine: you’re lying on a sun lounger in your holiday home’s garden next to your private pool. You’re surrounded by a beautiful landscape composed by mountains, valleys, parks, morasses, beaches, bays and islands.

It really would be a shame if you didn’t scratch the surface. There are three nature parks in l’Estartit’s surroundings.
One of them, the Mongrí nature park is, undoubtedly, mountain bikers’ seventh heaven. Besides the dirt roads, you’ll also find a complete network of cycling and walking paths. Imagine yourself there, having a break to eat a nice snack or drink some water while you enjoy an amazing view. On the Montgrí massif’s top, you’ll be surprised by a castle and a great view of l’Estartit and Roses. When the sky is clear, you can even see the nature park Baix Ter and the Pyrenees.
Maybe you’ve already heard of the Medes islands. This diving paradise is on the Costa Brava’s coast. There are many different depths, so everyone is able to dive, no matter the level. You’ll be amazed by the caves, tunnels and the coral reefs. Do you prefer to stay dry instead? Then a boat trip with a glass-bottom is perfect for you!

Travelling back in time is cool! If you go to Torroella de Montgrí, you’ll know what where it's all about. You’ll feel its passionate and romantic atmosphere and it’s only a few minutes away from l’Estartit. In addition, this neighbouring village was also the place of birth of many artists, writers and photographers. Visit its private foundations and art galleries, but don’t forget to meet its architectural remains from different periods. We certainly recommend you to have a walk through the Carrer Major. You’ll pass under the 15th Century Palau Solterra. From the outside, it’s an artistic building that was redecorated following the Renaissance and Modern art standards. Inside, you’ll find many works from important Catalan artists.
At the crossing between Carrer Major and Carrer de l’Església, turn left. At the Carrer Ullà, you’ll find one of the most remarkable historical buildings of the area: Can Quintana. The Museum of the Mediterranean Sea is placed inside of this building. The expositions from the museum will introduce you in a dynamic way to the Montgrí massif, the Baix Ter and the Medes islands. But there’s way more to discover nearby l’Estartit!

Within a stone’s throw, you’ll meet the world of the terracotta and many medieval villages, like la Bisbal de l’Empordà. Another option is to pay a visit to Perratallada’s hidden castle. If you like art, then you should definitely visit Figueres, Púbol and Cadaqués.
